Scientific Review Officer, Grants Review Branch

Current Responsibilities and Activities

I serve as scientific review officer (SRO) for the Special Emphasis Panels Review Section at the NIDDK.  My research interests include pediatric nutrition, inherited metabolic disorders, and mammalian development.  My work supports the Review Branch, which evaluates applications in study sections organized by Institute staff.  The types of applications reviewed include those submitted in response to Requests for Applications, training and mentored career awards, fellowships, program projects, and multicenter clinical trials.  In support of the Special Emphasis Panels Review Section, my responsibilities include overseeing the review of applications for a wide range of topics, from translational research, to time-sensitive grants, to ancillary studies.

I am formally assigned as the SRO for the Division of Digestive Diseases and Nutrition (DDN) and I am responsible for the review of Research Core Center Grants (P30), Program Project Grants (PO1), Cooperative Agreements (U01s), multisite clinical trial R01s, ancillary studies, R24s, and R34s.  I also have served as the SRO for all R&D contracts that are managed by the DDN.
