Current Responsibilities and Activities

I direct programs on clinical, behavioral, and epidemiological obesity research for the Division of Digestive Diseases and Nutrition.  My portfolio includes investigator-initiated studies and multicenter consortia.  In support of NIDDK’s mission, I participate in several working groups and committees.  These include groups that address obesity, clinical studies, and the K99-R00 transition process.

Obesity Treatment and Prevention
This program supports research on the development, testing, and translation of behavioral, medical, and surgical approaches for preventing or treating overweight and obesity in adults and children

Obesity, Pregnancy, and the Intrauterine Environment
This program supports basic and clinical research to understand the effects of over-nutrition, obesity, and diabetes on pregnant women and the metabolic health of their offspring
