The Hematology and Endocrine Biology Programs of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) at the National Institutes of Health announce a 2-day Workshop on MicroRNA in Cellular Development and Hematopoiesis, which will be held at The Historic Inns of Annapolis in Annapolis, Maryland, on April 23-24, 2007. This Workshop will address evolving insights into the role of MicroRNAs (miRNAs) in regulating organ and tissue development generally and blood cell development and function in particular. The Workshop will review current information on the biogenesis and function of miRNAs and on how miRNA mediated post-transcriptional regulation influences organ development and hematopoiesis. The program will include plenary talks by a panel of invited speakers, selected short talks, and a poster session. The informal setting and format of the Workshop will favor interactions and discussion among participants. Travel grants will be made available to registrants whose abstracts are selected for oral presentation at the Workshop. A limited number of rooms at The Historic Inns of Annapolis has been reserved for Workshop participants, so early registration is encouraged.

Call for Abstracts
Friday, April 6, 2007, is the deadline for both poster and speaker abstracts submissions.
Poster Abstracts: All Workshop participants are invited to submit poster abstracts for presentation during a poster session on the first night of the Workshop, April 23, from 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The poster abstract submitted should have the title and contributing authors listed at the top of the abstract and references noted at the bottom. Note: A limited number of poster abstracts submitted will be selected to be presented both as concise talks in the Workshop program and as posters during the poster session, and Workshop participants selected to make these presentations will be provided with a travel award. Individuals who wish to be considered for the short talk and travel award are asked to send a cover letter and biosketch, along with the abstract submission to: aamerson@scgcorp.com.
All speaker and poster abstracts will be printed in a Workshop Program Book; consequently, all abstracts should be submitted by April 6 to allow time for preparation and printing of the Program Book. Please send all abstract submissions to: aamerson@scgcorp.com.
There is no registration fee for this Workshop.
