Kidney Developmental Biology and Aging

The Kidney Developmental Biology and Aging program focuses on fundamental mechanisms through which the kidney develops and ages.  Specific projects examine the mechanisms underlying stem cells and cell fate specification, differentiation of epithelia, and innervation of the kidney during development and aging.  The program also supports research on mesenchymal-epithelial interactions, smooth muscle specification and differentiation, and vascularization.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
