About the Office

The Technology Advancement Office (TAO) handles the review, drafting, and negotiation of various types of transactional agreements for those who wish to collaborate with an NIDDK investigator, request research materials, or explore NIDDK technologies that are available for further research and commercial development.

The TAO evaluates invention disclosures provided by the Institute’s research staff, makes determinations regarding the filing of patent applications on discoveries and inventions, and assists in product development strategy.  Additionally, the TAO facilitates research and clinical trial partnerships between the Institute’s investigators and the global scientific community.

Visit the Technology Advancement and Transfer page to learn more about our work with the global scientific community and to access our catalog of available research materials developed by NIDDK scientists.
