Background

This webinar is jointly sponsored by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) and Center of Wellness for Urban Women (CWUW).

Sisters Together: Move More, Eat Better is a national program of NIDDK’s Weight-control Information Network (WIN) designed to encourage African American women ages 18 and older to maintain a healthy weight by becoming more physically active and eating healthier foods. Sisters Together offers evidence-based, age-appropriate, and culturally relevant brochures that give African American women, their families, and their friends practical tips to help them move more, eat better, and ultimately, improve their quality of life.

In this webinar, participants will learn more about the Sisters Together program, and hear a case study from CWUW Executive Director Rhonda Bayless about how she established and sustains a program in her Indianapolis community.
