Current Fellows

Ben L. Da, M.D.

Residency: University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA
Medical Degree: University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, NJ
Year in Program: 3rd year
Research Projects: My research interests encompass both luminal GI and hepatology.  I am currently working on projects related to familial carcinoid tumors, CORI database, and non-cirrhotic portal hypertension (NCPH).  The familial carcinoid tumor protocol focuses on evaluating new diagnostic methods and treatment modalities in patients at high risk for developing carcinoid tumors.  Regarding the CORI database, my aim is to better describe clinical features and incidences of gastrointestinal malignancy and precursor lesions within distinct populations inside the United States.  For NCPH, I hope to develop both a diagnostic scoring system to improve earlier diagnosis of NCPH as well as a prognostic scoring system.
