DR. RODGERS: Stereotypes can pose mental health challenges for communities of color.

Hi, I’m Dr. Griffin Rodgers, a Director at the NIH.

My colleague, Dr. Eliseo Pérez-Stable, Director of the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, explains.

DR. PÉREZ-STABLE: Mental illness is often misunderstood or overlooked for people in racial and ethnic minority communities. Depression is a leading cause of suicide, but depression is treatable.
