Polycystic Kidney Disease
Research on renal injury from cyst growth that occurs in PKD.
The Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) program advances basic, translational, and clinical research relating to renal injury from cyst growth that occurs in PKD and related eiliopathies affecting the kidney. This program supports experimental approaches to evaluate the mechanisms underlying cystic diseases, including cell and molecular biology, genetics, and both mammalian and nonmammalian models of disease. The portfolio promotes functional, structural, and imaging markers and strategies for diagnosis, early detection, severity, prognosis, and outcomes.
