You don’t need to be an athlete or have special skills or equipment to make physical activity part of your life. Activities like walking your dog or taking the stairs at home or at work may help improve your health.

Physical activity may seem hard at first, but research strongly shows that physical activity is safe for most everyone, and the health benefits far outweigh the risks. Not only can you be active at any size, you can have fun and feel good at the same time.

To get past some common physical activity roadblocks, start with 10 minutes of activity, three days a week. Find something you enjoy and see how you feel. As you get stronger, add more time or turn up the intensity. Be active with buddies who can support and encourage you.
